Itinerary at a Glance

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Fly to Kihihi & Transfer to Bwindi

Day 2: Full-Day Birding in Bwindi – Ruhija Sector

Day 3: Morning Birding – Transfer to Queen Elizabeth (Ishasha)

Day 4: Birding in Queen Elizabeth – Kazinga Channel

Day 5: Fly Back to Entebbe – Departure

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Fly to Kihihi & Transfer to Bwindi

 

  • Arrive at Entebbe International Airport and connect to a scheduled domestic flight to Kihihi Airstrip.

  • Meet your private guide and transfer to a luxury lodge in Bwindi’s Ruhija sector.

  • Optional forest-edge birding upon arrival.

  • Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 2: Full-Day Birding in Bwindi – Ruhija Sector

  • Early breakfast and briefing with your specialist birding guide.

  • Full-day birding along the Mubwindi Swamp trail—home to several Albertine Rift endemics.

  • Key species include African Green Broadbill, Grauer’s Rush Warbler, and Shelley’s Crimsonwing.

  • Packed lunch in the forest.

  • Return to the lodge for dinner and checklist review.

Day 3: Morning Birding – Transfer to Queen Elizabeth (Ishasha)

  • Early birding around Ruhija for missed species.

  • Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Ishasha, famous for tree-climbing lions.

  • En route birding and possible big game sightings.

  • Check into a luxury lodge in the southern sector.

  • Evening birding around the lodge.

Day 4: Birding in Queen Elizabeth – Kazinga Channel

  • Morning game and birding drive in the park—look for Black Bee-eater, Martial Eagle, and more.

  • Afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, a haven for waterbirds like African Skimmer, Pink-backed Pelican, and Saddle-billed Stork.

Day 5: Fly Back to Entebbe – Departure
