Day 1: Arrival in Kigali – Transfer to Volcanoes NP
- Meet and assist at Kigali International Airport
- Scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park
- Check-in at your lodge and evening at leisure
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
- Early briefing followed by gorilla trekking in the misty bamboo forest
- Spend an hour observing the gorillas’ social interactions
- Return to lodge for relaxation and optional cultural activities
Day 3: Golden Monkey Trek or Cultural Visit – Return to Kigali
- Morning golden monkey trek, a rare and playful primate species, or visit Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village for traditional dance and storytelling
- Afternoon transfer back to Kigali for overnight stay
Day 4: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
- Drive to Nyungwe Forest, known for its rich biodiversity and primates
- Evening at leisure in a forest lodge
Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking in Nyungwe Forest
- Early morning chimpanzee tracking expedition with expert guides
- Observe chimpanzees in their natural environment, listening to their calls and watching their social behavior
- Return to lodge for rest
Day 6: Colobus Monkey Tracking & Canopy Walk
- Morning trek to spot the striking black-and-white colobus monkeys, one of Africa’s most iconic primates
- Walk the famous Nyungwe Canopy Walkway, suspended 70 meters above the forest floor
- Afternoon nature walk to waterfalls and birdwatching
Day 7: Nature Walks & Waterfalls Exploration
- Explore scenic trails and visit cascading waterfalls within Nyungwe Forest
- Opportunity for birding, photography, and forest immersion
- Evening cultural performance at the lodge
Day 8: Return to Kigali – City Tour & Departure
- Morning drive back to Kigali
- Optional city tour including the Genocide Memorial and local markets
- Transfer to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight
